Intelligent Key Board

  • We are working on keyboards for Indian languages that are compatible with English fonts both in font size as well as line space.
  • We strive to include all non-character symbols within the language keyboard, so that you do not have to change language keyboard for typing even essential symbols like interrogation mark.
  • We are hopeful of making Indian language typing easy by incorporating salient features of the fonts in the driver. Hence the name ‘Intelligent Key Board’.
  • Right now we are working on Hindi and Tamil fonts;we seek collaboration with IT professionals for similar development in other Indian languages.

Text To Speech

  • Text to speech is important for people who can’t read the script, people with problems of vision, people on the move, distance learners and language learners.
  • It should read according to the context; not read time ‘at 11.45’ as “at one one four five”.
  • The program is capable of reading tables and diagrams so that it can be used to read textbooks. The program is based on the production of natural voice. Not many Indian languages have a T2S program.
  • We seek collaboration with IT professionals for similar development in other Indian languages. We will make it available free to occasional users.

SpellGram

  • No Indian language has a Spelling and Grammar Check program. A few institutions have developed a SpellCheck program for Hindi etc.
  • However a SpellCkeck program can be misleading as it would pass “I are going on home” and the user has the false satisfaction of ‘corrected’ the language’
  • The program will check both spelling and grammatical errors. It will have ‘autocorrect’ functions and will also offer suggestions for correction.
  • We will make it available free to occasional users. We are working on Hindi and Tamil SpellGram programs. We seek collaboration with IT professionals for similar development in other Indian languages.
